Find the Funny Debuts Online PITCH SLAM
by Anonymous
Hollywood, CA July 8, 2004 -- The Find the Funny Comedy Screenplay Contest has launched PITCH SLAM an online contest to help writers test market their pitches. Each month, a guest from the Hollywood film industry will judge and give feedback on the top five pitches. This month's guest judge is Clifford Werber, Producer of A Cinderella Story. Each monthly winner will receive a free entry to the Find the Funny Comedy Screenplay Contest. This month's PITCH SLAM deadline is July 15.
"Learning to pitch well helps writers understand their story better. If you don't have a good pitch it may be a clue you haven't written your screenplay properly," says Bill Graham, host of PITCH SLAM. "A pitch should be as repeatable as a good joke because the exec you're pitching to has to turn around and pitch it to his boss."
PITCH SLAM gives writers a chance to get in front of producers like Mr. Werber without suffering from sweaty palms. Each PITCH SLAM judge will provide feedback on how the pitch works in the real world. Does it lack a hook, is it too long, does it have all the elements? The PITCH SLAM judges will tell you what it needs to get to the next level. Results will be posted on findthefunny.com along with the judge's comments.
